VLADIVOSTOK DESIGN WEEK. FESTIVAL OF DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE AND ART

Vladivostok Design Week, the fifth festival of design, architecture and art, will take place in Vladivostok from 28 September to 1 October. This year's theme is #DESIGN_And_THINK - a conversation about object design, import substitution and trends on the Russian market.

The All-Russian Decorative Art Museum ois a strategic partner of the festival. Within the framework of the special project "Object Talk. Far East", VDW participants will be able to see the best examples of contemporary Russian design, which have previously been exhibited in the museum, and take part in one-on-one discussions with the authors of the objects. 

The exhibition presents items of nominees and winners of the competition-biennale of object design "Designed and Made in Russia": Grand Prix winner - chair "Uryndyk" by Pyotr Safiullin, winner in the category of industrial design - a collection of lamps Paper Cones by Lilia Makarova and others.

On September 29, Anastasia Krylova, Head of the Fashion and Design Centre of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum, will hold a public talk "Design Policy: Vladivostok".

The event will raise the following issues:

1. The strategic role of design in the development and sustainable transformation of the city;

2. How the design-policy ecosystem is formed, its tools and levels of design application in the public sector;

3. Design leadership and cross-industry networking;

4. Challenges of modern professional education.
