March 22, the IV competition-biennale of object design "Designed and made in Russia" started to accept the applications for the participation. The All-Russian Art Decorative Museum will become a platform for participants from all regions of Russia and not only! With the support of the Association "Business Center for Economic Development of the CIS there launched a special project "Commonwealth Design", where designers and brands from the CIS countries can take part.
This event is designed to open new names, guide participants through a high level of expertise and at the same time start a conversation with a wider audience about what design is for the modern man, how tightly it defines all spheres of our life from interiors to AI-technology and new solutions that are responsible for creating a better future.
This year, the list of the main categories of the competition has been expanded. "Industrial Design", "Studio Design" and "Special Youth Nomination" were supplemented with new ones - "Circular Design", "Jewelry Design" and "AI-Technology in Design". Special emphasis is placed on the sustainable agenda in object and jewelry design. This direction of the Biennale is supported by the Russian Ecological Operator PPC, which is responsible for the formation of a closed-cycle economy in Russia.
"According to the results of the competition this fall in the halls of the Museum will be held the final exhibition of nominees from Russia and Commonwealth countries, and category winners will be able to organize a solo pop-up exhibition in 2025. Traditionally, the Grand Prix of the contest will be purchased by the Museum for its collection of object design", - said Elena Titova, Director of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum o noting that "the main museum goal of the project is to form a collection of object design of the XXI century".
