"HISTORY OF RUSSIA IN LACQUER MINIATURE. XX CENTURY" LECTURE

The history of Russia has always remained one of the central themes in the works of artists of different generations of the four centres of lacquer miniature painting - Fedoskin, Palekh, Mstyora and Kholui. The masters responded vividly to the events of their contemporary life, feeling deeply involved in its realities

The lecture will present works by leading authors of miniature painting, created from the 1920s to the 2010s. Caskets, chests, boxes, cups, plates will show a wide panorama of the most significant events that took place in our country: revolutionary movements of the early XXh century, the Civil War, industrialisation of the state in the 1920s-1930s, the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period, the development of friendly relations with world powers, great construction projects and space exploration.

The All-Russian Decorative Art Museum is successfully realizing the exhibition project of the same name, dedicated to the history of the XXth century, as a regional co-operation with major museums of Russia.
