The main part of the collection of precious metals is represented by the works created at jewellery enterprises in the period from 1920-s up to 1980-s. These are mainly the works of the best-known craftsmen and creative groups of artisanal artels: "Northern Niello" factory in Velikiy Ustyug, the Kubachi art factory named after R. Alikhanov in the Daghestan village of Kubachi, the now-closed Gotsatly art factory in the Gotsatly village, and artels and factories in the Kostroma Region.

These pieces were created for display at international and national exhibitions, such as the 1937 Paris World's Fair, the 1939 New York World's Fair, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair, the 1967 Montreal World's Fair and the 1970 Osaka World's Fair. Created between the 1930s and 1980s, they are today a true treasure trove of national artistic heritage.

The museum's collection includes works from the 1950s-1980s by the most renowned jewellery masters of Buryatia. The unsurpassed masters of jewellery art not only embodied in their works the centuries-old culture of the peoples of the Far East, but also the modern creative understanding of the national tradition.
