THEY DESIGNED IT AND THEY MADE IT! THE FABRIC OF MEMORIES. NATALIA KOSOVETS

12 april – 19 may

Textiles create texture, tactility, they allow you not to depict, but to evoke a feeling, a memory. The author tries to find a connection between the landscape and memory and the subconscious mind. The world around us is overloaded with information, it is so overwhelming that it knocks us down. It is important to stop, be alone with oneself, listen to one’s memories – this returns a state of harmony.

Natalia Kosovets is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, winner of the Studio Design nomination of the 2022 Biennale "Designed and Made in Russia". He works in various techniques related to artistic textiles, prefers the needle-punched method of connecting fabrics and fibers. In this method, the lower layer of fabric is punched through the upper one with a special serif needle, creating a dynamic, living surface. The works use waste from the production of curtains and drapes. Combined: organza, wool, silk, cotton, hand-dyed.

Curator of the exhibition: Margarita Yudina-Nadezhdina.
