30 january – 31 december
How did lions and mermaids end up in a Russian house? What does an ornament on an ancient spinning wheel or embroidered towel mean? Why does a festive ladle resemble a swan or a duck?
The magical world of the Russian house will be revealed to the participants of the program at the new exposition of the museum "Journey Home. Traditional Art of Russia". After getting acquainted with the works of masters, in the interactive space the children will be able to try ancient tools "in action": spin on a spinning wheel, iron a towel with a rubel, examine how ancient objects of folk art are decorated. The participants will paint a wooden spoon in the workshop as a souvenir of their museum "journey".
