The laboratory will be a continuation of the "RazARHIVation" project, during which the museum created a unique resource - the online collection "Archive of the Research Institute of Art Industry".
"ARTel Laboratory" is a practical work that actualizes the experience and methods of the Research Institute of Art Industry. Under the guidance of mentors - art historians, folk art researchers, craftsmen, contemporary artists, - the participants will study the principles and methods of traditional decorative art, develop samples and guide collections for crafts in such materials as wood, ceramics, glass, fabrics, carved bone.

Participation conditions:
Free. For participants from the regions, travel to Moscow is free. As part of the laboratory, you will need to come to Moscow no more than 2 times.
How to apply?
To participate in the laboratory, please fill out the APPLICATION.
In the application, we ask you to indicate:
• Relevant portfolio: examples of works made using folk art practices.
• A story about why you want to take part in the project, your education, profession, interests and what kind of decorative art (material, technique) you would like to study in the laboratory.
• Possible format of participation for you: online or offline.

Announcement of the list of participants - September 19, 2024.
The laboratory will start working on September 21, 2024.
The project includes:
1. Lectures (online and offline) on the study of the history and theory of folk art, development strategy and presentation of traditional decorative art.
2. A practical laboratory under the guidance of expert mentors, artists, craftsmen - visual research and interpretation of traditional art, design of product samples in traditional materials within the framework of the artistic canon, but in contemporary aesthetics.
3. Production of developed product samples in the material at traditional art production facilities
4. Exhibition of samples at the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.
