The building of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum is one of the last to have preserved the original look of the Classicism era. The history of this artistic ensemble as if mirrors the development of our country’s three-century history.
The Palace of the Chancellor of the Russian Empire, the Moscow Theological Seminary, the Third House of Soviets, the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR - all this is our home, preserving the spirit of old Moscow, the memory of several eras and generations.
We invite you to take a walk around the estate complex, feel the spirit of past eras and immerse yourself in the history of our city. We will finish our acquaintance with the architecture of the estate inside the building.
On the tour you will learn:
- when the estate appeared in this area of Moscow;
- what the architecture can tell us;
- how the owners and the purpose of this building changed.
You will see:
- interesting artifacts from the XVIII-XX centuries, which are usually not on the show;
- how the building changed over three centuries;
- what secrets does the "Osterman House" keep.
