01 january – 31 december
The patrons taking part in the tour will get an idea of a striking phenomenon in the history of Russian decorative and applied arts, the Russian style, which emerged in the period of Historicism (which lasted from the 1830s to the 1870s) and continued to evolve until the “neo-Russian style” took its place (between the 1880s and the 1900s). The display highlights operations of the main art centers that practiced the Russian style (Abramtsevo, Talashkino), and also activities of the Moscow Handicraft Museum.
