The program "Birthday at Osterman's House" is a unique opportunity to organize a special holiday for the birthday celebrator and his/her guests - with an excursion of your choice, with games, masquerade elements and tea party in the old style. The program consists of three parts: a guided tour with interactive games, a tea party in the tea room and a workshop. The content of the program varies depending on the "style" you choose for your celebration.
/ 1st Theme: "Folk Art of the XIX-XX centuries"
In the folk-art halls the guests will get acquainted with the traditions of Russian hospitality, see old holiday costumes, learn what gifts were given in the XIX century. After the excursion we will play a folk game, they used to play at each and every holiday. In the second part of the program the guests are invited to the tea room, with food and samovar for tea. The last part of the holiday is a workshop. Having remembered ornaments, images of birds and animals seen on authentic objects of folk art at the ehobition halls, the guests will be able to paint a wooden spoon, which they will keep as a souvenir. At the end of the class, each guest will leave his or her wish or drawing on a special certificate, after which the document will be solemnly handed over to the birthday celebrator as a souvenir of the Birthday Party held at the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.
/ 2nd Theme: "At Osterman's Palace"
The birthday celebrator and his/her guests will get acquainted with the culture of “aristocratic” celebration. Surrounded by authentic objects at our exposition, which decorated the interior of the palace rooms, it is easy to imagine oneself as a participant of a real ball. The celebrations and holidays never went without treats - in the second part of the program the participants will move to the tea room, where they will be able to say warm congratulatory words to the birthday child and drink a cup of fragrant tea. The host will tell the guests about the history of tea culture, show a number of items related to this drink. The third part of the class is a pantomime. Our holiday turns into a fascinating and amusing game, requiring from the participants acting efforts and guesswork. Such games were a popular entertainment in the XVIII and XIX centuries. At the end of the class, each participant will leave a wish or a drawing on a special diploma, after which the document will be solemnly handed over to the birthday celebrator, and also, each guest will paint a porcelain saucer and take it with him/her, as a souvenir of the holiday held in the museum of arts and crafts and folk art.
