June 29, 2022 All-Russian Decorative Art Museum starts accepting applications for participation in the III All-Russian competition-biennale of object design " Made and designed in Russia ". By means of this competition we want to show the actual cross-section of Russian design and replenish the museum fund of the modern domestic design with the best contemporary works. Designers working and producing their products in Russia are invited to participate.

Applications are accepted at the official site of the Biennale till August 25, 2022.

Elena Titova, director of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum:

"By conceiving this project we wanted to provide designers with an opportunity for self-presentation, to strengthen the communication channel with colleagues and the audience, as well as to increase the recognition of contemporary Russian design. While for professionals the contest is a platform for a dialogue, for finding new partners and customers, for young designers it is a chance to make themselves known, to get an expert opinion, possibly advice and support. The experience of conducted competitions shows that there is a competition element, but it loses to the spirit of collaboration, cooperation, which we can observe in joint work of authors, manufacturers and consumers.

This year we are glad to announce, besides two main nominations - "Industrial Design" and "Studio Design" - a special nomination "Young Design" - for designers who have graduated from Russian universities in the last three years. Our curators - design experts Marina Shirskaya, Alisa Burmistrova and Natalia Dzembak will supervise the initial selection of entries.

This year's jury includes the directors of the leading Russian museums, the historians of design and art, the leaders of design opinion: Marina Loshak (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts); Elizaveta Fokina (Museum-Reserve "Tsaritsyno"), Elizaveta Likhacheva (Museum of Architecture named after AV. Shchusev), Kristina Krasnyanskaya (executive director of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center); Alexandra Sankova (Moscow Design Museum), Margarita Pushkina (Founder and Director of Cosmoscow International Art Fair), Olga Kosyreva (Design Critic, Design Historian, Trend Analyst, Founder and Lecturer of Design Lab), Maria Savostyanova (Deputy Publisher, Russian Art Focus, Maria Savostyanova (deputy editor of Russian Art Focus, member of the Expert Council for Design of the All-Russian Decorative Arts Museum, art historian) and Artem Dezhurko (design historian, PhD, member of the Expert Council for Design of the All-Russian Decorative Arts Museum, associate professor of the Higher School of Economics). The jury is headed by Elena Titova, director of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum.

"Traditionally we will present the works of the nominees at the final exhibition in the museum from November 22 to February 28. And to the category winners in major nominations the museum will provide the right to hold a personal pop-up exhibition in the museum halls in 2023, - says Natalia Loginova, curator of the project, Head of Fashion and Design Center of All-Russian Decorative Arts Museum, - the best work – the Grand Prix the museum will purchase for the object design collection".

The general partner of the contest " Made and designed in Russia" is "LSR Group" - the largest construction holding. "Alexander Zilbert, the Director of Information Policy and Corporate Communications of LSR Group, explains our cooperation with the biennale of object design: "Like the participants of the contest, we often create with local materials – produced by our own plants, scattered from the Leningrad Region to Yekaterinburg. In Moscow, our key format is all-inclusive houses. So, when the resident has not only all the necessary infrastructure, but also the culture within walking distance, as our top-of-the-line project - the residential complex "ZILART" clearly shows. Not surprisingly, it is in this new quarter that we plan to install one of the competition’s works, which will be selected by a special jury”.
